Cheryl Harris - Osteopathy for Horses and Companion Animals

ABOUT OSTEOPATHY FOR HORSES My name is Cheryl Harris. I am a registered osteopath, living and working in the East Midlands. I qualified in 2003 and over the years I have gained lots of experience treating horses and riders of all abilities. Through this site I hope to give an insight into how focused, osteopathic techniques can help promote happy, healthy horses.

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment which places emphasis on the musculoskeletal system. Osteopaths believe that the individual's structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) are inter-dependent. We apply specific manual techniques to the body's structure to help the body cope with the stresses put upon it.

Treating horses is very rewarding - they often respond rapidly. Many seem to find the experience relaxing and liberating. Please read on to find out when osteopathy may helpful to your horse.

Dogs also respond well to osteopathy - see my 'Working and Pet Dogs' page for more info.
